Results of the 2012 Equity & Sustainability Field Hearings were released in time for Rio+20. View or download the report, “Waiting To Be Heard: Preliminary Results of the 2012 Equity & Sustainability Field Hearings” here. The report was created with the help of 19 Partner organizations and 60 coauthors, and the participation of over 2500 individuals in 34 communities across Asia, Africa, and Europe.
In Rio, Dr. Olive Shisana, President of the International Social Science Council and CEO of the Human Sciences Research Council (South Africa), and Priscilla Achakpa, Director of the Women Environmental Programme (Nigeria), both spoke about the Field Hearings at the People’s Summit at IfE’s Equity Action Plan event on June 16. The results of the report were used to inform language in the Equity Treaty, and will be instrumental in further developing the Post-Rio Action Plan for Equity in upcoming months.
We are looking to expand the Field Hearing project across the world in upcoming months. Please join us!
